Internships for undergraduates and graduates in psychology can be carried out at our Psychotherapy Practice.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES: The aim of the internship is to introduce the psychology graduate to the theory and practice of specialist psychodiagnostic examinations. The trainee will be able to meet patients and clients presenting at our ICEAH centre and be present when the various tests and psychodiagnostic techniques are administered. Particular attention is paid to the anamnestic and psychodiagnostic interview, Rorschach, Lüscher, Hypnoquestionnaire, psychological handwriting analysis, tree, family and human figure projective tests, M.H.Q., free association and hypnotic regression and hypnotic age progression. The trainee will be present during the processing of the diagnostic data, will be able to view all the medical records and discuss the patient's or client's diagnostic framework with his or her tutor. As not all people who present at our centre are of Italian origin, the trainee will be able to talk to an anthropologist about certain intercultural aspects that affect test results. In addition, he/she will be able to be present during the centre's meetings when clinical cases are discussed, and will be able to meet with our psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and anthropologists. As our ICEAH centre maintains an active collaboration with a number of psychology practices and hospital institutions both in Italy (Synergy) and abroad (Charles University), the trainee will be able to exchange views with other specialists in the psychodiagnostic field as well as on psychological rehabilitation issues.
ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT: 1. The first requirement of the traineeship is the trainee's involvement in the practice of promoting his/her professional figure within a private practice (web pages, linkedin, etc.). 2. The trainee will become acquainted with the practical management of the psychologist's private practice (administrative matters, issuing of medical receipts, practice organisation, psychologist-patient relationship, medical records and their archiving, management of telephone calls, emails, preliminary interview, specialist psychodiagnostic examination). 3. The trainee may occasionally follow online, as an observer, sessions with patients (anamnestic interviews and psychological rehabilitation). 4. An introduction of the trainee to the different contexts of professional activity with institutions (universities, medical and psychological centres, hospitals, schools, hospices) and an explanation of the technical equipment is planned. 5. The trainee will attend organised team meetings approximately twice a month. 6. As the activity of the ICEAH centre is focused on experimentation in the field of hypnosis, the trainee will take part as a researcher (in activities such as the administration of public opinion survey questionnaires), as well as taking part in the recording of videos showing new hypnotic induction techniques. 7. The trainee's practical involvement in the creation, preparation, organisation and management of teaching courses, both in the classroom and online, is envisaged. 8. The trainee will be involved in activities to improve the website and others to promote the psychological work of the ICEAH centre. 9. The trainee will take part, with the centre's teams, in international congresses, also becoming co-author of the scientific papers to be presented. 10. The trainee will be regularly monitored by the tutor and will receive suggestions and corrections if necessary. 11. A final evaluation at the end of the placement is foreseen, taking into account the trainee's achievements and his/her ability to integrate within the institutional context.
CONTENTS OF THE SPECIFIC TRAINING: The contents of the specific training, given the scientific activity of ICEAH, concern the use of induction techniques, the area of research and experimentation (recording of brain waves during the hypnotic state, application of hypnosis in foreign language learning), the area of dissemination of hypnotic techniques (preparation of video material, web site management) as well as collaboration with the organisation of hypnosis courses, participation in international congresses and scientific exchange with other centres and specialists carrying out the activity in this field.
Preference is given to candidates who can communicate with the tutor in English.
